Do you understand what a confessions blog is?
Aliya has gotten bigger since the Olympics. Actually even since Euros. I saw her in Moscow and she looked good. Guess the camera really does add ten pounds.
It’s absolutely hilarious when people think that gymnastics success is 100% about hard work. With a few notable exceptions, American gymnasts’ parents are by and large very wealthy. They can afford to send their babies to the best gyms, with the best coaches and the best training. Other people can’t always do that. Every elite international gymnast works hard, of course, but I’m not attacking anyone’s work ethic. I’m just pointing out that rich kids like McKayla Maroney and Aly Raisman have an easier time getting to the top when they can pay for it. Someone with Aly’s potential who had a less competent coach because they couldn’t afford to switch gyms or they had to quit gymnastics altogether because they’re parents couldn’t pay the tuition would obviously have a lot longer a journey to something like Olympic gold.
